It was a lifetime experience for my journey to become an entrepreneur. Having spent 2 weeks upgrading myself (shopping) and brainwashing (reading business and entrepreneur books), I am finally ready to register my company on 15th May (which according to my parents are good day for business after checking the Chinese Calendar).
It was also a good day because it marks the end of my 4 years being an employee. I started my first job on 16th May 2005.
I woke up at 8am, all energized to face the d-day. I took the public transport to PWTC and reached the SSM at 10am. There are a lot of people waiting already.
I told the counter that I would like to register as a sole-proprietor and was handed a form to fill up.
The process was easier and smoother then I expected. I got my queue number (after completing the form with a copy of IC), went to the counter to check the name of my company, YFS Consulting, got approved, wait for another 15 minutes for payment and then another 1 hour for my certificate to be issued.
During the 1 hour, I went to survey the pricing of printing business cards upstairs and had some breakfast.
By 12pm, everything is done! My company is YFS Consulting!
What was more memorable next was I sat down with a designer for the next 1 hour to design my company logo and my business cards. It’s really much easier when you know what you want!
I proceed to print my company stamp too. So by 1.30pm I am all set to tell the world about my company!
It was a life changing experience for me as I took the road to entrepreneurship even though I am not sure whether I am going to make it.
One thing for sure is I will do my best and grab the opportunity that came along the way, accept challenges and failures as the process to success, pick up the sweet as well as learning experience in the process.
I know I am on a mission J
